Of course, all the post-processing and investing the time to create the look you want is quite an artistic thing. But is it really the same ‘art’ as something like a painting or a poem?
I guess ‘art’ is self-expression and I personally think Photography is art too. You’re the one with the camera, at that specific time and place, with that knowledge and creativity to capture the moment. Obviously, the camera is the one capturing the visual scene, but you choosing to capture that timeless moment is what makes the artist in my opinion.
I photograph certain subjects because I want to create something in my perspective and make it my own to express emotions and to tell a story.
Sharing the photographs with other people is a big part of it too. What’s the use if no one is going to see it?
